Hi, everybody.
This is my obligatory introductory thread:
I am 52 years old.
Unmarried w/o children.
I am a carpenter and computer tech.
I live near the Atlantic ocean. "Near" as in within 20 miles.
I grew up and lived most of my adult life in the woods. (In a house 99% of the time).
Present social and political climates have got me wanting to refresh my woods/survival/camping skills.
I have always kept a getaway-bag/disaster-survival kit at the ready for reasons of common sense preparedness.
I gave up sports hunting when I was 18. I still enjoy occasional salt-water fishing.
I know a bit of foraging basics, ie., what not to eat, and a 1/2 dozen things you can eat.
I own a Ruger MarkIII pistol for home-protection and target shooting.
I plan to buy a small caliber, lightweight rifle in the near future. Hopefully before Jan. 20th. It may not be possible after that. (sorry if my politics are showing.)
I found this forum while browsing through the main Wilderness-Survival.net pages.
Call me lynch.
