I've been involved in and have built several log cabins. Those have been the most useful things I have made. Lived in a couple of them for a spell myself and helped others build their's to live in.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

I tried the links in the first few posts but I'm getting 404 errors. Are these no longer in existence? Pity.

Two daggers, one made out of flint and one of the front leg of a moose. The flint dagger was made on a re-enactment week in Danmark, the bone dagger home made in te Netherlands.

My wife made them, it's like the sheat from Ötzi, the glacier man from the Alps.
She also makes things like this. Nets to collect nuts or roots or whatever.

I've made some items from Oetzi the Icemans kit.

Oetzi was found with an intact extremely well preserved (4 piece) Bearskin Cap. I copied the measurement of the main horizontal piece, which was 52cm x 7.5. I made mine a tad longer, with an extra black fur piece at the front (My head is bigger than 52cm). the other pieces were a bit hit and miss, as the measurements and explanation of the shapes were quite open to interpretation i.e.: 'wedge' shape and 'pointed oval' shape.

here's a knife I prepped (shaped, ground and drilled holes for the handle) for a young friend of mine to heat treat and also put a decent front cutting edge on for me. It was originaly an old rusted plough blade I found in a field. I thought it would make a Kukri style chopper. I'm happy with the result.

Thanks very much Roel, I'm glad you like it. I see you're Dutch. I like the Dutch, very hospitable people. :-)

I remember back in 1988, when I drove an old Bedford van all over Europe, with my brother and 2 other mates. What a relief it was to cross the border and speak English for once, without getting filthy stares. We'd spent some time in France previously, visiting Normandy (Omaha Beach) and all the other wartime bunkers, Beaches and harbours etc, then Paris. The French were downright rude to us, as they thought we were English. Once we made it into Holland the young people were quite happy, to speak English to us. Those were the days before most European countries had mandatory English lessons in schools.

I still remember visiting Arnhem and the famous Bridge (A Bridge Too Far movie) over the Rhine.

    An awesome country to visit.

I love the group shot of you guys going primitive. You're all having a ball. That's what life is about. :-)

Keep posting mate, I'm really enjoying seeing what you guys in Holland get up to.
