Thread: Make a simple and easy pack frame.

Default Make a simple and easy pack frame.

Made a pack frame using a few saplings and some paracord. Note that this could be made with natural cordage as well. But for demonstrations purposes I just used paracord. You can check out the video below for steps on how to make it.

We made pretty much the exact same thing in my Scout troop 45 years ago with broom sticks and bed slats. Used a Diamond hitch and a shelter half for the "pack"

That's pretty awesome. Yeah this is also in the SAS manual, I never built one in scouts but we did a lot of projects that were similar.

    Nice job......lots of cordage.......
Am big fan of pack boards....for packs and just carrying all sorts of things that are heavy.

Have a canoe chair made for bent oak and raw hide that doubles as a pack board and a chair.......

Was going to try building one from willow, like you used....got down to my spot by the river....beavers chewed them off......then the farmer tilled the stumps in....LOL......

By using two longer pieces of willow, lot less cordage to form the frame.

That's pretty cool actually, I want a pack frame that doubles as a chair. Good sound advice.
