    Default Forest Fare; in the florida fall season.

    I went out to gather Mushrooms today and all i found was stringer full of Grass hoppers, thats ok I roasted them right away with my kudlijk.

    Thanks for the invite. I don't care all that much for bugs. I am rather fond of snake though and have been known to dine on feral dogs and cats.

    I like snake too, the bugs are just a simple fettish. (the traditional treat) that we cherrish every year. whats your (cherrished) natural woodzy treat for Fall?

    personally, i go for the mushrooms [and the fall rainst have just started after a dry dusty summer] but i can't argue with the grass hoppers or snake either.

    Last week, I used a sapling to swat grasshoppers, and they turned a reddish color when I cooked them. I didn't use grass to cabob them instead I used a twig.

    Yea there are some big hoppers around here. did not know there was any one on here from Ocala, I work there, Live in Salt Springs.

    Raspberry jam, blueberry pie, bacon wrapped grouse breasts, moose jerky, the mountains as they turn from green to purple to white, the smell of spruce, birch and alder smoke in the air, hearing the grandkids scream with excitement at the sight of the first snow fall.
