Probably bite his head off and use his arse for a bowl. That would be more Bear's style.

I find it quite arrogant of him catering about eating raw reptile when he has the means (the tools, and most likely the fuel) to make a fire and cook the meat to reduce the risk of getting salmonella or any other parasite or harmful bacteria. It's all for show. People are going to start doing that in there own back yard, and thats a no no. I know you can eat raw reptile meat in emergencies, but lets face it, he doesn't neccesarily need the food (why snake?) in the seven days he's walking about and he's not in an emergency. If he wants do to stuff like that he should go in there starting with just his bare hands. I bet when he gets off the show he's at the least terribly sick.

You aren't suggesting that he uses slight of hand or trick camera angles are you? That would almost like spending the night in a luxury hotel while the audience thought you were roughing it.

Yes, It's all for show and I have stated many times CAUTION about Gryils show. Les's show is not as dangerous, as he is always warning the viewers about being careful, and he is more realistic than Bear (and doesn't stay in a Holiday Inn at night). But, both shows are trying to show how you could survive with a minimal amount of equipment. I will bet that 90% of the members here have on them a knife or a multi-tool most of the time. Les even showed one week, the behind the scenes of what takes place to make each episode.

True, I don't think any of us are better then them. I sure as hell couldn't pull through a survival situation without tools as easily as I could with my knife. But thats usually all I carry.

If any of you have the first season on dvd or on tape and have the episode where he is in the Rockies. There is a scene where he makes a rabbit stick, comes across a rabbit and kills and eats the rabbit. Well if you look closely, it appears that the rabbit is staked out. Besides, getting that close to a rabbit in an open area with cover close by is next to impossible.

I thought that I remembered somebody posting a youtube vid on the rabbit scene that showed how it was staged, including all of the misses with throwing the rabbit stick. It may still be around, but I noticed that many of the youtube vids exposing ole Bear have been removed. Guess the lawyers got involved - "I don't care that the video clearly and convincingly proves that my client is faking much of what he does.

Believe it or not, I saw my first survival show a week ago. I was over a friends house and his son was watching it. I don't know which show it was, but the fool tried to get honey from a hive and got stung in the face. He had an allergic reaction and his whole head swelled up. Is this the same guy?

I've had people ask me questions about things they see on TV, sometimes it seems a bit out there. I saw that episode, and thought it was a bit stupid to go after honey if you were allergic to bee stings. I myself am allergic to bee stings so I know of what I speak. And, my favorite food is honey too! NOT worth the risk!!!

Default Bear Gryills is NOT a fake.

I just realized what the Topic of this thread really says. "Bear Gryills is a fake".
No HE IS NOT, his show Man vs Wild is dangerous.
The problem is that there is no one here on this sight or 99.999% of people alive, that could do what he has done 'collectively'.

The youngest person to climb Mount Everest (never done at that age before or since)!
British Special Forces (for 3 years)!
Pass the training tests for the French Foreign Legion (harder than any military tests anywhere)!
Para-Sail over the top of Mount Everest (never done before or since)!

He is a very unique individual. But his show Man vs Wild is dangerous.
