    Default Snails

Where I live there are old shell mounds which are mostly snails.Has anyone tried these, Seems like the natives ate quite a few of the snails.

There's a reason for that. I posted this not too long ago. Snail slime contains an amino acid that behaves like adrenalin. The boost is immediate. Rabbit pellets are rich in wild chamomile and are a natural sedative if the snail rush is a little too much. Just lick one.

Definitely cook them! Snails can carry parasites that can effect humans.
It also helps to put them in rice water (water than has been used to strain white rice) or in a pot of water with some cornmeal. This will allow them to purge themselves on their crap.

I don't eat filter feeders like muscles, oysters and clams (okay, I will eat clams fried but that's it). They are really susceptible to pollution problems and you get to eat that. Yuck!! Here's a current article on what can happen.
