Default So, what's going on in here?

It's been some time since I've been here.

Here's my intro from many moons ago.
    http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...-groundwalkers

I need to return to what I enjoy. I've been bogged down in politics for too long. I'm too invested in things I have very little control over.

    Anyways, hello again.

I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.

Nice to see so many folks back again! After almost two years on work comp I was finally able to work again (about 25-30 hours til I can work myself back up to it) so I haven't had as much forum time lately.

It has rained some over the last two weeks and we are looking at a pretty good chance of some more this week. What we have gotten so far (about 3"-4") has been the best kind to get. Slow, soaking rains. It's been spotty, but that's how it always is down here. We were just coming off of a cool spell and with the 100% humidity right now anything that water can condense on is sopping wet. I had put a good coat of WD40 on all my saws and tools the other day but I'll still have the task of wiping everything down at the end of this week... A year or so ago we had this situation and I walked in the shop one morning and found a thin layer of rust on the table saw, the jointer and anything else that had bare steel.

    How bout y'all?

    How about me?

I was just talking to a buddy and we canceled lunch tomorrow. I'm on the top leading edge of that ice storm you see on the national radar cutting straight up the Ohio Valley.

At the moment I have freezing rain coming down and that mixed with snow all night.

    Ain't life grand?

You can keep that stuff up there in Kentuk... supposed to be mid 30s for the low until Friday or so, with some rain...none of it freezing... I'd go south for the winter but there's nowhere left to go...

We are in the middle of the summer here at Brazil. A nice time to have barbecues.
I own some stuff, and I know some things. But that's all.

Well, now they've got us freezing tonight and a "Winter Warning" or someanother until 9:00 AM tomorrow. Cold for the rest of the week. I'm not looking forward to February at all... If it's like the last two, it was down into the teens for days. We already had one significant freeze. I'm done, don't want another one this year, or next year..
