Here in South Texas we don't much have Spanish moss... But we do have some little, single use, ball moss that I suppose would suffice... I doubt there'll be a run on it in the stores...

Oh, yuck. It's probably only one ply too.

Very porous also but burns readily, which is probably a good thing.
Alan
I will not ask how you know.

I'll say this, the bigger the clump the better off you are...
And then you likely never leave home without TP ever again...
Alan
TP is highly overrated. That's why you have fingers.
I ... uh .... have never tried the finger method .... I think I'll stick to the more modern methods of tidying up after a most primitive function.... It would certainly cut down the fingernail biting though....
Alan
I would be happy to use your fingers. Mine, not so much.

I don't know but I'd guess you wouldn't survive long without 'em. Those two opposable thingies are pretty handy. They've served me pretty well.

I use my left thumb as a test dummy to make sure my hammer is working properly... fortunately I don't use a hatchet much...
Alan
Dad always said if the pain in your thumb becomes too unbearable then you should stomp your toe. At least you'll forget about your thumb for a bit.

Many years ago I had a young exchange student from Guatemala working for me. He did not have a thumb or index finger on his left hand. It appeared to be a pretty clean cut. I asked his companion what had happened. He told me that the boy had sliced it off himself with a machete working on a banana plantation. The guy was incredibly good with a machete and axe. I guess he learned his lesson.

A variety of internet gurus of everything survival oriented all mention a modified Crunch tool.
So I did a search and was educated.

The last post "Swimming with the fishes" covered it.
