I'm really not big on the campfire smell permeating my every fiber either but it sure beats the after dinner smells from the 4 guys I camped with.The only problem about a fire is the smell u get from all the ash and stuff...
I don't know if this will work for everyone but I like lemon candy/drops etc.. They seem to kill the stench of campfires, burnt food and air biscuits. I tried mint but it just makes bad tastes/smells worse.

I avoid it. Makes my lungs hurt and I cough even if I inhale the slightest bit of it. But I used to use it to cover my scent before hunting or covering the scent on my traps.
