Default Sad story- Montana's first fatal grizzly attack of the year

A sad case! Craig Clouatre was hiking a ways north of Yellowstone with a friend and reportedly they decided to split up for some reason. He never made it back to camp, and a search was organized. Searchers found his body, mauled by a grizzly. I didn't know him but he lived in Livingston, a small town about 45 miles east of me.

What a terrible way to go and what a terrible loss for that family. When my wife and I hiked out there we both carried bear spray and I carried a .357 with Grizzly loads. And...we made noise especially around blind bends. The article didn't say whether he had anything on him or not and I can't judge but you have to take precautions when you are not the apex predator in the neighborhood.
