(Lowered head and shaking it). I have yet to figure out the dang clock on the VCR. It has flashed at me for 18 years now. I don't even know if they make VCR tapes any more. I started using it as a nightlight about 8 years ago. Walking through the living room in the dark with that light flashing is the closest I come to dancing these days.

The last known VCR maker ceased production mid last year. VCR's and VHS tapes are dead and gone. 8mm film however may be experiencing a comeback.
There ain't too many problems you can't fix with $500 or a 30-06.

First VCR cost me $500 bucks....back when....had a remote that had a wire on it...(old)...but at least not a BETA

Last one or I should say 2 were purchased for $40 bucks each.....with a DVD player....they are still new (one blinking 12:00, like the old days)...the other has never been plugged in.....don't ever use them.
But because of a size able collection of tapes....wanted a machine that would work if I needed it.

Also have a 8 track player with tapes, cassette players with tapes, CD with player, ...and 45 /33 LP....and a player...that will hook up to a computer and make recordings.
Then the iPod the size of a pack of smokes.....and couple of copies on thumb drives.....with ALL the recorded music.......1200+.......

And it's all the same music!.......

That uses cassettes.......You could buy than with the vocal missing...

That was mostly used by the modern camping group parties....at camp grounds pavilion in the summer....and hotels pools parties in the winter..... we would rent 12-20 rooms...bring that and a "electric campfire"....last party was 1999
Just realized how long ago that was....wow.

Sadly....a lot of those people in that group,...have passed on......
Did remember to take out the batteries before in got ruined.

Unless it's a crystal. Those are awesomest of all. If you can get a squawk out of one of those things, you're great.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

When I went to Yellowstone I overheard this woman say "look at the geezer". Was she referring to the geiser or some one?

I like American Science and Surplus. The catalogs are hilarious and they also have a Xtal radio kit.
