91 yr old FIL succumbed to complications brought on by COVID-19 infection. He lived 25 years after a quad by-pass, three more hospitalizations in which stints were put into other arteries and one that even placed a stint within a stint. He survived prostate cancer once but it returned late last year and he began chemo again lowering his immunity to "Zero". He insisted, against his daughter's pleading, on going to a Republican glad-handing fund raiser and "Jersey Boys" on back to back nights. Thus began our ordeal. His was over at 2:00 PM today. Ours continues but is improving. #1 wife is coughing less and I smelled hamburgers cooking when I stepped out of the shower (and there were hamburgers cooking). First thing I've smelled in a week and a half.

Now we just have to figure out how to accomplish a difficult task under adverse circumstances. Should be easy with everything we need locked up and down in Louisiana....

Alan - Please accept my condolences on your loss. You and your wife have been through an ordeal and and now she has lost her father to this terrible disease. You and your family will be in my prayers. I am glad that the two of you are feeling better.

That's a bad thing on top of everything else. Stay well. I hope things get better for you all. You're in my prayers
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Thanks. I believe we are recovering quickly.

I just read about the Convalescent Plasma donation thing and contacted the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center and inquired about when and how I can start donations.
