    Default More Camp Blanding

Mrs. Crash and I spent a few days at the lake for her birthday. Lots of rain, periods of calm and overall wonderful.

Crash, I want to explore the south Florida everglades. My minimal research shows an in-and-out backpacking trail along the southern most coast.
I am a man of the north and more recently Appalachia.

I'd like to do a 2-3 day backpacking trip in the winter.
Any advice? Particularly, how not to get chomped by our reptilian friends in the night.

Looks a lot like my old stomping (sloshing) grounds in South LA. Beautiful pictures.

I'm in the north part of the state so can't give you any specifics other than there is plenty. The Florida Trail is about 1100 miles long and the southern end is at Big Cypress. I'm sure there are plenty of miles of hiking (probably hundreds) around the glades.
