I can tell you, this dog my daughter has decides to hang out longer when it rains ( he is clipped onto a cable when he goes out, to prevent him front running off chasing random animals and people who go by) rain seems to be his absolute favorite thing and when he does back up on the porch he literally stinks. I towel dry him as best I can and wipe his paws off but I put him in his crate in her room until he dries, and mop everywhere he goes before he is put up. Wet dog smell is gross.

Max does not like rain or being wet. He loved swimming in his youth but not so much anymore. I have spent 12 years camping with him in a tent, under a tarp, and under the stars. And yup, he stinks when wet. It's just not a deal breaker for me. Plus he obeys Crash. Not common that heelers obey more than one human.

I guarantee it smells better than a sheep.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

I guess his monkey chasing days are fewer and fewer.

He's probably wondering when MadMax is going to give up and stay home. Truth is, Max probably says the same thing about MadMax.

Leaving for an 11 day Rendezvous Wed. No dogs allowed. We'll both have separation anxiety.

Never been around sheep? Well, for one, my head Prof. In graduate school had sheep. I've had exposure at other times.

And, you sorta did go there.

Every spring we comb a couple cat's worth of hair out of him. We found if we put the fur bundles on the bird feeder the chickadees and finches take whole facefulls of it to line their nests, which strikes me as ironically comical. There's several generations of birds out there that think the smell of rufus cat fur is home.

There are a lot of reasons I like the old song "Twa Corbies'. One is the thing about the "Bonnie blonde hair".
