Cracking Black Walnuts

Whats the best way to crack black walnuts fast? I have been foraging for them, but they are extremely hard to open. Any suggestions?

Tip of knife in stem end, twist and open.

We always just used a hammer, tapping it along the seams. but I was a little kid and often hit the wrong nell. My fingers took a beating but that never stopped me.

Thanks for the advice. I just found a bunch of them so I will have to try one of these methods.
