Default How long do clothes get worn out in wilderness?

How long do we wear out clothes in wilderness? I heard that your attire will be easily worn out in wilderness while survival. The clothes I mean are our daily apparel such as cotton T-shirt, silk skirts, silk dresses, cashmere jacket coat, shoes and so on. I saw some movies depicting people with shabby clothing after survival. However, some were not. Which one is more reasonable?

Movies are not necessarily a good source of information. They can however provoke some thought or questions (as they have done with you).

It depends on a lot of factors. Surviving in a big city......oh, say like Taiwan would be much different that surviving in a tropical jungle or in the mountains. What specifically are you looking for?

I survived in Taiwan once. My clothes lasted about fives hours then we got into the hotel room... Oh, wait...never mind. I think I misunderstood the question. Yeah, what Crash said.

I'm afraid that I can't be of help. It's been ages since I wore a silk skirt and heels.

No, if it involved silk and heels it wasn't me. I'm strictly into shabby.

Shabby is slimming, or so I'm told. Maybe that was sliming, I don't know, it's so confusing.

You couldn't prove it by me. It started with a bottle of Kaoliang then Max showed up. They say what happens in Taiwan stays in Taiwan so that's all I'm sayin'.

Underwear is four days. Frontwards, backwards, right side out and inside out. After that I'm either changing or going commando. Even the skunks are holding their nose at that point.

It works easily when you have a white background.

If it's truly a an emergency then you've got better things to worry about than you're clothes or yourself in terms of the cleanliness, so you do what it takes when you can as you can.

Oh come on Max. tell the truth! Gotta be better than Rick in a Hong!
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.
