    That is NOT the way to remove a fish hook. Think of the damage the barb is doing beneath the skin not to mention the pain. If you are not able to go to a medical facility there are time proven ways of removing a fish hook.

    That video, and No. 1, which is basically the same thing, are bovine waste. I "like" what No. 1 says: "Don't worry: only a tiny bit of flesh is behind the barb. It won't hurt too much."

    No. 2 is what I learned in Boy Scouts. It's gonna hurt either way, but No. 2 is smoother, rather than ripping chunks of flesh out.

    Of course, it's shoved straight down deep, a scalpel (or exacto knife) from the first aid kit is probably the only option. And a bullet [to bite on].

    Number 1. pushes the barb down so it doesn't hang on the skin and goes out the same channel it went in. Here's a doctor demonstrating the same method as number 1.
