    Default Secret Underground Bush Shelter

Hello everyone and thanks for joining , today I will talk about progress in my hidden shelter , I was there , I decided to make only the middle part folding , covered it with debris and actually stay dry in a small rain , also I made a Georgian corn bread with cheese , also thought I almost lost my dog but turned out he was hiding in the shelter so guess the hidden part works , lol
So to not bore you with much talking here is the video and some pictures
Next time I plan to make a bed , cover it with moss and then debris , cut all the roof pieces one size and put ground around it to help keep the water out a bit

    God bless
    Nick

How does that work for you in the rain?

That would take some major storm water engineering and a sump pump around my place.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

I can't talk about heavy rain going for days , but a nice medium rain for a few hours no problem at all, no leaks

My concern about your shelter is the weight. With the slightest failure of any component (support pole, lashing, etc.) it could come crashing down and injure you or worse.

2 thoughts. fire + dry leaves + logs = Secret underground BBQ pit.

In South Texas, there are things that crawl down in holes that I don't want to be in there with.

Other than that, it looks really cool.

Yeah, that's a very location dependent shelter. It would be full of snakes (coral, pygmy rattlers, and possibly cane break rattlers. Not to mention scorpions and fire ants here (FL). However, my wife and I built a shelter in NC on our land and used it for a coupla years.
