    Default Lee Bennett

wasn't sure where to post this but it is a matter of survival. Awhile back the knife making community lost a maker to a shop accident. The maker was Lee Bennett.
It is sad. I hear the accident was due to a buffer. My knife making friend told me years ago that the most dangerous machine in a knife making shop is a buffer. He told me that a buffer can snatch onto a knife and fling it. Be careful out there.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

I read about that elsewhere, really sad. I thought the buffer was set up running away from you/down so the blade would get flung into the floor instead of your head? I'd read he died of head injuries. Again, very sad for sure.

It is true that the buffer can be one of the most dangerous pieces of equipment in the shop. While others can hurt you quickly, they usually aren't live threatening.
