Default Where to find a 45 ACP kit on an AR frame

They call it a AR-45. PSA offers them but they are always sold out. Will a 45 ACP shot from a rifle be accurate? I would prefer to find this rifle in a kit form.

I bought an AR-9, 9MM, about a year ago and just love the thing, it goes to the shooting range every time I go out. I'm casting my own 9MM bullets and reloading so I'm shooting 9MM for the same price as 22LR. Now I'm thinking a 45 ACP would be cool to have and may use it for wild hog hunting.

    Ideas!

Thousands of GI type people swore by the accuracy of their Thompson "carbines" in .45acp during a war long ago. Since I have owned a couple of pistols that placed their .45 bullets in very small clusters out to 50 yards I would not hesitate to use that caliber out to 75-100 yards in a carbine length barrel, but I fear they would drop rapidly after that.

Night shooting hogs I would suspect there would be no long range problem.

I have never know of PSA actually having the .45acp in stock. It has never been available in my memory. They must be selling them off back-order faster than they can produce them. That or they have run out of parts and simply have not taken this out of their system as an option.

If you own a 1911 you might give these folks a try. I have always though their system looked interesting.

You also have the option of the HiPoint "monkey gun" as another option. Oddly, the HP carbines get good reviews and even had an acceptable write up in American Rifleman. And it is cheap! You can even take a file to the lock notch of a 1911 magazine and make them work, so cheap mags are available at gun shows.

Not having much luck finding an AR 45. Palmetto Start Armory is real stingey with information on the AR-45. I called several stores and emailed PSA twice for information. All I can do is watch their web sight.

New Frontier, Morartiar Arms, Karri's guns appear to offer an AR-45 but they seem to be in the $1000 range. I would like to stay with PSA since I like the AR-9 I bought from them.
