Default Cheap baylite 3/8 x 4 inch ferro rod handle

Hi all, I picked up a couple of the baylite ferro rods and wanted to make a simple and cheap handle to make it work much better. I work as a boat repair tech and with the Ethanol added to the gas here in the states the gas tank withdraw tubes have needed replacement on many boats. The replacement comes in 24 inch long that has to be cut to fit the tank. This leaves pieces of new tube that is turns out make a great and in my case free handle. The tube is stiff plastic and a tick smaller then the rod. Using a heat gun I was able to soften enough to force it on. After cooling it is firmly in place. I then drilled it and locked it down with a zip tie on version 1 on version 2 I used parcord. Hope some find this useful and run with the idea.

I would call that Yankee ingenuity but given the locale I guess I'll have to go with the Rebel version. In any case, that's pretty slick. Nice job.

    Well that works
I seen handles made out of Pine (fatwood) so that you can if you need scrape off some shavings to light...

Well done. It's always a plus when you can re-purpose material that would otherwise be discarded.
