Do you sill do that? I've flat lost all my calluses...

    :P
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

I still have the calluses but what I play is a little more sedate than that.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Not nearly as much as I used to, but yeah, and you loose your ability to play that well to an extent.. but I want to try start playing again.

I can also play quiet sedate, but I enjoy rock.

Cool. Thanks for sharing. What stuff are you playing now?
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

Well haven't really played in a long while,
But I do play both acoustic and electric, a bit of blues, a bit of hard blues, a bit of rock..
And well whatever I pretty much enjoy or can easily learn to play.
I am not particularly tied to one genre of music entirely.

Sounds like most of the crew here would be good candidates for a Grateful Dead cover band!

Hahaha I can play Ripple on my fiddle. I was just asked to be in a newly forming band so we will see where that goes.
    Here's some of my callouses.

The Greatfull Dead did a lot of "folk songs" back in the day. Celtic tunes like Whisky In The Jar, and a killer version of Shady Grove. They would get on one of those old folk songs and jam for 45 minutes in concert. The fact that some of those songs had hundreds of verses helped that effort.

Back when they formed, in the early days of the hippie movement, they were in the same circles as Cosby, Nash and Seals and the Yardbirds and all those group members had their background in the big folk music bands of the early 1960s like the New Cristy Minstrels and the big "hootnanny bands".
