Thread: Hello from Texas

    Default Hello from Texas

    Hi there!

I love backpacking, hiking and camping and primitive skills. I used to spend extended amounts of time out in the woods and dreaded going back home but home was were my cats are so home I had to go.

While most people like sitting in front of a TV or computer and becoming a zombie, I rather be outside. I love to fish and I love to hunt.

    Self-admitted - I'm a "hack-of-all-trades"

I like this sire a lot better then the other so called 'survival' forum I was on. There was so much fantasy happening on that site you could have written some doom pron fiction just using that site. Most of it was arm chair 'preppers' who likely never set foot in a national forest and think they can haul a 30+ pound BOB or 60+ INCH bag and survive out of it.

Their doomsday scenarios are really reaching too.

    Welcome :
I dont know about those types...
All I know is What I have actually done and experienced.
I am pretty large dude and pretty strong, as In I am 6.3ft and about 220lb and can deadlift well over 440lb
but yeah I Dont like or enjoy one bit lugging a bob bag that is like 60lb.
I dont view myself as a prepper I know what prepping is about etc..
I view myself as a wilderness survival/living enthusiast.... I see no use in having some Magical BOB and having all this gear if you have no clue how to use it or even get out there and attempt to use it... I prefer having skills and experiences, with a few very good tools that I know will work for me.
