    Way to go GCCKOKA!

    Your mind is in the right place.

    Taper the tang to eliminate the bend and make the repair look like it was an intended part of the construction.
    If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

    Grinding out a small bend is a good option that I should have mentioned before.

    sos , I just tempered it 1 hour on 200C (400F) and the blade turned purple , does this mean I messed up the heat treat? As I know I was waiting for a light yellow color , I had it attached to D2 steel to straighten it could this have done anything?
