Default Overnighter In Ocala National Forest

Madmax, Max and I spent a little time in the Ocala National Forest. Weather was perfect. While having my morning coffee I realized the cup I was using was the one that was gifted to me by H63 on the fifth Jamboree. I raised the mug to the heavens in a toast to John. I hope he was smiling.

I'm going to wait before responding to this thread. Envy is not becoming. I truly miss the days when life allowed for me to have the luxury of getting the great peace of mind that comes from wood smoke and whatever was in that dutch oven.

I've had some good friends who I can only see when I look into a campfire for a long time. We're lucky to have those kinds of friends. I'm glad you remember your friend on your outings.

    Crash,

Thank you for sharing the most excellent pictures - as always !!! You have a special photographic eye and talent. The clarity and color contrast of these pictures look beyond "normal". Have they been enhanced in any way?

Wow, looks like a good time was had by all! That's a good lookin' dog, looks like he's got a few miles on him! I've got the flint & steel kit that Hunter63 gave me in the Xmas exchange last year, sitting right beside my chair- I'm eager to get out and try it out. Hopefully he'll see the smoke I'll be sending skyward. It will be a bit though- a big storm is rolling in right now, they say we'll get 15" of snow.

I do a little processing after I download the pictures using the software that came with Windows, but for the most part what you we is what I saw.

It looks like some of that white stuff has started to settle on someone's chin and someone else's cranium

    Snow, yep, that's the ticket.

The dog looks like, "That thing again. Do you ever put that down?"

Hope you don't. I like the picture - probably be the only way I'll see Florida again. Actually, it's pretty nice - I didn't get bit by anything.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Max wasn't getting any of that breakfast. He doesn't process pork well. He likes Crash. But gave him the stink eye 'cause he didn't share.

That's how they lure you in. They're like dealers. They let you visit a time or two and nothin' happens then you move down there and you get eatin' by a dinosaur or stung to death by killer bees or devil ants. Great Whites are lurkin' just off shore, just so you know. It's all part of the plan.

Aye, everything Carl Hiaasen and Dave Berry writes is true.

Wow, that looks like a nice outing.
Also Spent the weekend out with my Best mate and just camped, and shot air rifles..
No pics this time and no videos this time either.
Was nice to relax and just camp, not do a survival mission.
