    here is another swedish double, it's a husqvarna, 16 ga, full and full choke and 35.5 inch barrels. I've been taking it with me on my woods walks

    fluid steel barrels or Damascus?

    Is that breech release under the forearm?

    it's steel barrels, the breech release is LeFuechex. that spelling is probably not right but it the french man that invented the pinfire. The swedes used that breech release up into the 1900s, maybe as late as the 1930s
    of course it has 2.5 inch or 2 9/16" chambers.

    I am sitting here looking at my Lee Load-all and I can not see a single reason someone could not precisely trim down one of these setups to do those short shells. You would not be taking off more than 1/4" all the way across. You could do the whole job with a hacksaw, file and sandpaper.

    Plus if you completely messed the project up you can buy replacement kits for just a little bit.

    I was at a gun show a week ago and found a lee whack a mole in 16 ga for 20 dollars so I bought it. The gunsmith in town can lengthen my 12 gauge out to 2.75 but I don't think he has a reamer for 16 ga. I'm tempted to have the 12 ga lengthened.
