Default Stone Tools 300,000 Years Old!

Seems like mankind has been knapping tools a like longer than scientists have given him credit for. A LOT longer.

Fascinating. Also the use of color that early.
    Thanks for posting it, Rick.

I'm not saying it was aliens...seriously though, pretty cool! I know that some stone tools have been found that likely predate modern humans meaning they were probably made by Neanderthal people.

    O.o

Neanderthal....oh, but no! Only homo sapiens can create art!

True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Very cool... and well yeah I would imagine that early humanoids would have used tools.
Even as it stands our closest relatives in the evolutionary scale also show some form of tool use(chimps and gorilla, orangutan etc)... but not to the extent of flint mapping..
but its not entirely surprising, Just interesting

I have a couple of hammer stones they were first used for flint knapping.
i'd sure like to see some of crashes work that be nice.
coyotes listen to them, like children of the night what music they make.

According to Lloyd Pye, most of the history that we are taught is wrong. LOL

There is so much about that that is painfully wrong. But I will agree...most of the history we're taught is wrong, to some extent. In fact, most of the history we think we know is wrong. The reason I can say that is that nobody is around today that experienced it and the people that recorded it were very biased. They couldn't have made an accurate record if they wanted to, and they didn't want to. Sargon wanted to make himself look great, as did the Pharaohs. The Greek and Roman historians wanted to make their people look great and their leaders look like idiots sometimes) just like we do.

History didn't start millions of years ago, it started with writing around 6000 years ago - anthropology subject matter, maybe millions of years ago - paleontology and geology subject matter, a few billion years. Religion and philosophy? - God only knows. The Beach Boys? ....
