Ohhhh YAY! Rick, send me your address. This is going to be fun.

well i just got out my gift today. yea
coyotes listen to them, like children of the night what music they make.
Got mine today, thanks, Hunter! That's definitely some stuff I can use! I love those towels- I've got a few of them but they've been out of stock at Amazon so I haven't been able to replenish my stock, so thanks. I haven't dug into the fire tins yet, will do that shortly. Again, much appreciated.
One note- I left your gift with my brother to mail out since he has more free time. He told me it went out but if you get a package from a name and address you don't recognize it's just your gift. Hope you like it.
Okay, rooted through both tins- very cool! I love the flint and steel, somehow I've never really used that very much. Great variety of old-school tinders, too! I love the paracord pouch. It takes some ingenuity to make something like that (and I certainly don't know how!). That will be a handy little kit to keep some tools and fire making gear at the ready.

I will! Good stuff. Let me know when your goodies get there, hopefully you'll find it handy. It's very similar to the kit I take on short hikes.
Christmas came to North Florida as well. Got some awesome trauma wound bandages and a light weight casualty blanket. With luck I will never get to use them, but it adds quite a bit of peace of mind with them in my first aid kits. Thanks Rick!
I thought about a knife but then....naaah.
I mailed out my gift yesterday! It should be there by Monday.

Glad you like it! Lots of useful stuff, it's a replica of my usual 'bushwacking kit' that I carry on day hikes.

I was hoping to get out and use my gift and do a review as I have a bit of time on my hands for a short while. But darned if it's not -15 F today! A little too cold for bushcraft, at least non-emergency stuff!

I have had occasion to use some of the stuff. I must have at least 200 knives, probably more. But I was trying to open a package last week and not single knife was within reach except that little folder in my Xmas package. I was surprised that it was actually quite sharp! It did the job for sure.
I wish the weather would give me a break! I'm looking forward to trying out the first kits. As I mentioned, although I think of myself as a bit of a "firebug" I've never used a flint & steel! Just dinking around a bit this it indoors it's trickier than I would have thought. Great tinder in those kits BTW. Finally I saw the kits at BUSA (I'm a member there but my normal username was taken/unavailable unfortunately so I'm under a different name), very good stuff!
I'm here to tell you that trying... and actually starting a fire on your workbench ...inside....can be exciting....Didn't think it work work.
Usually I make up kits but it hard to find small enough steels and a good piece of flint....
So that guy made these up...and I bought them all. for gifts...
Keep use posted.
