    Up date....
    Gate completed...and operational.

And yes even with dollies and hand cart...neighbor came over and basically "held" thing in place while bolt holes were drilled.

    Both panels were completed prefab....
So only 8 bolts and it was up.

Whole lot lighter and easier to open and close....don't know if the 15 year old gate would have made it thru the winter.

That is one fine gate but I must confess that if I were backing in and out with a trailer that trellis would be in grave danger!
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Thanks....took about 2 weeks with breaks naps, and rain....trying not to lift and handle any more than necessary...

Back in the "olden days" that would have been a Saturday project...But. Hey it's done.

Does the darker slide bar lock the two sections into one section? Pretty cool. Nice job.

Actually, Yes....That same bar was the only salvaged part from the original gate.

Neighbor that had helped me......is retired as well....and his wife is thinking that I may be leading him astray...

After he finished his leaf blowing around 3:30 PM, then walked across with a couple of Killian's Red...as I was sitting on my porch counting cars that were going by the were texting....

His wife called him home a 5 min after 5:00 ....but we did get a couple cold ones in,... before she reined him in.....LOLOLOLOL

I thought that might be what it was. Let's you bounce off the gate when you come home from those Duck's Unlimited meetings after a few too many brewskis late at night. Of course, now that you've had cataract surgery I'm not sure what you're going to blame it on.
