    O.o

I just realized - that's the day before I get my checks! No fair!
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Frankly, Rebel, I'm not that impressed. For instance, history has been an almost constant disaster for the Jews. That some of those events occurred on the 9 of Arv isn't that surprising. There are only 365 days in the year. It's just not that hard to construct an incredible history according to the Bible (the Mahabharata, the Koran, or Tale of Two Cities). The brain is exceptional at finding patterns in chaos.

I do believe in prophecy but I've always held that prophecy isn't a warning of things to come but an explanation of why things are when they get here.

Not only that but as a historian I can say that there is a lot of "bad history" in that little rambling and we do not want to get started on the theology aspect due to forum regulations.

The whole thing falls into the W.C. Fields area of prophecy. "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with BS"

I have this theory that mankind will make a mistake and everyone will accidentally fart at the same time. Global warming will immediately increase and the median temperature will be something like 240F. We'll have all choked to death before then so the heat thing won't be a problem. Some of this stuff keeps up at night.

If all the Chinese, Southeast Asians and Indians farted at the same instant they could move the earth out of its orbit!

I hope all of you realize that this thread, preserved forever in cyberspace, will be an accounting of the last days of Earth. Alien civilizations will decipher and read it, wondering……… How the Hell did they make it that long?

All they need to do is watch re-runs of C-SPAN for the last 10 years and they will be thinking a lot worse.

    Jimi Hendricks said it best......

    Third Stone From the Sun
    Jimi Hendrix

    Strange beautiful grass of green,
    With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine?

    Although your world wonders me,
With your majestic and superior cackling hen
Your people I do not understand,
So to you I shall put an end
And you'll never hear surf music again

    's about time!

Maybe I'll get one hike in before ........... the end.

    Oh, wait. That's tomorrow.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over.
