I brought home a Beretta 85F .380 today. I ordered it from Classic Arms. It was an LEO trade in. It has a bit of wear but is in pretty decent shape. It looks just about like the one in the picture.

So, it followed you home and now you want to keep it? Well, young man, you are going to to feed it, make sure it is cleaned and YOU are going to pick up after it! Understand? This will teach you some responsibility.

Actually, pretty light unloaded. 22 oz. Now I have to find a leash for it. I have (had) a Bersa .380 and pulled the slide release out. Never pull the slide release out of a Bersa. You do all sorts of bad things when you do that. The gunsmith is still cussing me and I haven't seen that gun in about 2 months. It only cost $350. I keep reminding the gunsmith of that. I decided to buy this one to replace the Bersa that may never be up and flying...ever.

Bersa 380 take-down lever does not come out for disassembly.

    Guess you know that now.

    That was mistake #1.

Mistake #2 was you did not come here and take your abuse like a man and let us help put it back together.

You force the slide block under the barrel down against the spring pressure using a long screwdriver, then slip the lever back in place.

Bersas have more little springs, clips, retainers, bells, whistles and quirts than Carter has little Liver Pills.

There are three or four guns you never take apart; Bersas, Remington Nylon 66, a Colt Woodsman .22 and I forget the other one. I'll remember it when I get to it.

At least you got a nice Baretta out of the deal.

Ooh! Ooh! I know the answer. H&R revolvers. Made that mistake too. They use magic, tricks and tiny little garden gnomes to put those Bistards together. The last I heard from the gunsmith about the Bersa he was going to drill a hole in the trigger guard to reinstall the spring that retains the release. I was impressed that he got the slide off without using a sledge hammer.

    I was gonna say the P-64 .
That pesky little spring in the trigger guard take down lever. And dont "EVER" remove the grip plates when you clean it.
The quote is from my gunsmith. EVER......
