    Default building a porch

I posted about my porch awhile ago and Krat mentioned something about adding a wood floor. I though that sounded like a great idea, better for my rocking chair too.
I'll be covering this with cedar planks. anyhoo here is the frame work, picked up the cedar earlier today

getting these photos sized right is a pia

    Outstanding ....Nice job.
I love porches....spend a lot of time on mine at "The Place"..

Actually put on on the front of my ranch city house....only one in the neighborhood....

    At The Place....
Favorite pass time is sitting and having some brewskies and watch for turkeys deer and ducks/geese flying....

City house pass time is having some brewskies...watching passing cars...trying to see if we can get to 5 cars in a row....that are NOT on the phone or texting.

Made mine on the old place out of poplar.

Back porch now is western cedar. Originally sold as a deck kit and re-engineered into a covered, screened in back porch.

Love my porches. Got the screened in back porch now and sit out there and drink coffee in the mornings.

Also have a wood stove out there for sitting when the weather is crisp.

    Yep, there's a rocking chair.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

thanks for the replies, rustic construction is my hobby, mistakes blend right in. Lot easier than being a trim carpenter too, LOL

I know you are wanting a rocking chair but that far end is screaming for a swing.

You also need a split log bench for under the window.

    Just sayin'.
