Water main, down the street, broke over night.....No water this morning.
Not a biggie as we just happen to have "Preps...of bottled water"...Fancy that.
But seemed dumb to use purified drinking water to flush down the "tootsie rolls" .
Normally have 4- 5 gal jugs full treated with bleach....but had emptied them during the clean up from the flood.
I had always thought of the sump pump, and pit,...as a back-up water supply.....
Last time I messed with the sump...I had added a submersible pump that also will suck off the floor, if needed.
Time to try it out.......pump there, short hose there, jug there ....so gave it a try.

Anyway....pumped a jug full filled the flushed bucket....then filled the jug again.
They are working on it and should finish up by the end of today.

Was surprised to see that water level in the pit lower than normal....I guess we have been dry between the floods...??
That tells me that maybe this may not be an option????
Sump pump.... is electrical dependent (backup hand pump?)
Make sure backup water supply is refilled and revolved......Evaluate amount.
Water heater has 50 gal...
Dehumidifier...makes several quarts a day (electrical dependent).
Always something?
