    Can you make a good knife from lawn mower blades? I have several laying around!!

    I don't know but I'll probably find out. Vehicle leaf springs may be another option too.

    In spite of the geniuses on Forged in Fire where everything is quenched in the same oil and nothing is ever stress relieved they are a crap shoot. No one knows what kind of steel is in them and what the difference is between the blades from TSC, Lowes, Troy Built or Toro.

    Then there is that big hole in the middle you have to work around.

    I used to mess with them when I had a big coal fired forge and a 300# anvil. I got a couple of usable big knives out of them, but had several that never hardened evenly.
    If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
