Oddly, "it was just a matter of time" pretty much says it. And equally oddly, I can't really say anything bad about it. I can see it being pretty useful and welcome.

I like the idea of these for lost arrows. Through and through is not uncommon at all, and I would prefer it to having an arrow stuck in an animal. So, it ain't always about hitting (or not hitting) your target.

Lost arrow in thick cover? Send your recovery drone in to recover you arrow while your game drone finds your prey again for another shot.
cough cough.
Or.............virtual bow hunting from Mom basement........No real animals will be harmed....then later you can have soy burgers...

You definitely want your arrow to pass through the animal. A lot of hunting occurs in diminished light and in heavily wooded areas. Losing arrows is very common. And recovering that arrow will let you know what organs your arrow hit. As well as giving you a quadrant on the ground that you can reference on the ground to confirm the direction your game ran.
