Default Pigpen and Licklog Falls (June 28, 2017)

I don't get nearly as much free time as I used to but when I do, I still like to try to go out hiking to see waterfalls. June 28, I got a couple of hours to myself and decided to go somewhere new. So off to Pigpen and Licklog falls I went. Here is my adventure.

Lots of pretty flowers on the side of the road and along the trail.

I had to "ford" across a stream in my Taurus.

Upper tier of the 80 foot Licklog falls. Hard to see from all the vegetation.

I had to climb down to the river here to see the bottom tier of the falls.

The falls end right in the river but I wasn't prepared to swim across for pictures showing this.

On the way back to the car, I made myself lunch. Steak, red and green bell peppers, onion, sweet potato, and blackberries.

Cool! I sure miss the waterfalls, the fords (not the cars - the places where creeks cross roads), the sassafras (!)....

    Thanks for showing them.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.
