Thread: Thinking outside the square - finding freedom.

  1. #1

Default Thinking outside the square - finding freedom.

Land is very expensive in New Zealand, even out in the back blocks. We thought our dream of living in a remote part of New Zealand surrounded by bush was impossible but found a way to live our dream - you can too. We sold nealy all out stuff, bought a truck and hit the road. We make our living from possum trapping and get to park up in some of the most stunning wilderness in New Zealand. Can others share their stories to give hope to those folk who feel trapped by circumnstances - if you can dream it you can do it.

You have been here before, several times. I do not think it worked out.

You keep registering under new names and coming back, make a half dozen posts that offer nothing and leave for a year.

    What's your problem?

It's better than being called Peter Beater.

Yep, this could ruin a reputation fast!

I am afraid Mr Beater Peter is like the drunk that keeps getting thrown out of the same bar and keeps going back because he was drunk and can't remember being thrown out!

We're in western NC in our off grid cabin for the summer
I only have my phone to post and it's a PIA to get it charged. Heavy canopy and rain makes solar ineffective. Went to town yesterday and got a full charge.

I'll bet every woman who wants to be fashionable is just dying for a full length coat made of possum fur.

I can just imagine that Ivanka is saying, "Hey, forget those mink or ermine or fox coats, give me a possum coat to keep me warm on cold days and make me look chic at the same time!"

If A&E network or National Geographic hears about this they will make a new series for sure. 'Possum Man of OZ!

It might actually be better than Mick Dodge and could be no worse than Mountain Men or Life Below Zero

Hey Mac! You can charge your phone using the vehicle battery you know!

If you do not have a vehicle charger you can get one for $5 at the dollar store the next time you make a supply run.

Subaru's charger is built in and takes all day to charge. Next year the truck is coming.

Get one of these and give Mama a couple of hours of electricity during that hot part of the day. It will charge your phone and run a big fan at the same time!
