Default Handi Rifle Barrel -odd caliber

Came across this listing for a un-common caliber

    7 X 64 Brenneke

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/152516721733

Gotta say I had not seen one listed for a while.
This one appears to be a factory job.....

Some of the rarer calibers....with twist rate.
    7.62x39 1 in 9¾"
    7x57 1 in 10"
    7x64 1 in 10"

    $400 buck's....ah...Pretty rich for me......Hummmm

How many times have you looked? The sweat is starting to break out on your forehead isn't it? Mouth getting dry? $400 for a caliber that odd? How long will it be before you see another one like it? You know you want it.

I'm a little heavy to sit on your shoulder so I'll just sit here at the computer.

You can get it at "The Guide"!

    https://www.sportsmansguide.com/prod...21&c=96&s=2984

    $40 a box!

That's almost as expensive as .44 mag ammo!

Makes me glad my line is new. Only two years old and one piece and two valves from the grinder pump to the main.

I even had the plumber install two clean out plugs between the house and the grinder pump so it would be easier to work on when the inevitable does happen.

I have been looking at the 7mm Brenneke and I find it to be almost a duplicate of the 280 Remington.

    Almost a 30-06 necked down to 7mm.

Looks like real popular in Europe as many cartridges were considered to be miliary....308, 30-06. couldn't be used.

The former legal banning of (ex) military service cartridges like the .308 Winchester, 7×57mm Mauser, 8×57mm I, 8×57mm IS and the .30-06 Springfield in countries like France and Belgium also promoted acceptance and use of the 7×64mm and the 7×65mmR.

In the years between World War I and World War II the 7×64mm was often regarded by German hunters as a “miracle cartridge” and dozens of different factory loads were available on the German markets< quote

I also saw that almost every manufacturer offers the caliber in as many models as possible for the European market. Very popular over there, unknown over here.

Mauser? I'll bet he has a couple of M45 quad mounts in some off the wall caliber like 20mm.

A 16 gauge Drilling with a 7X64 rifle tube? That is my 'wet dream" for a walking-a-round gun for up north where both big game and various game bird seasons over-lap. Wish I could find one that I could afford!

There was a 16 ga drilling making the rounds at local shows.......Saw the same gun at shows in Racine, Wi, and Lacrosse areas...
I guess they were passing it around ...started at about $2400 the first time I saw it....and was down to $1600 the last time I saw it.
Stock had a couple cracks and the metal was kinda ratty.

Not sure what the 7.62 rifle cartridge was ....but was a long straight sided case....odd looking
The guy(s) had a box of cartridges with it...and at the time I looked it up...and yeah they do, or did make limited runs.
    And it was heavy....

Haven't seen it around for a while.......
Did see one in "Pawn Stars" a while back.....that was in poor shape as well.....don't remember how much was offered....but was no where near $2400 bucks.
