Default All natural breakfast challenge !

So thought I would start a new challenge , anyone who wants to try it can join , basically you have to go out and find yourself one meal , no matter will it be foraging plants or hunting or anything as long as it is natural and you didn't buy it in the shop. Post a video or picture in this thread
Here's my video , hope you like it !

It would have to be fish and greens this time of year and I don't think I can handle that.

How about stalking the ham and cheese omelet at the Waffle House?

Breakfast all day at the Golden Corral?
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

When I was teaching I used to harass the kids that worked at Subway. They were all very proud of their offerings being "fresh".

I would ask if they picked the veggies every morning? No they were shipped in.

Did they kill the chickens and turkeys daily? No they were shipped in once a week. Were they alive once, euuuu?

Did they know where and when the smoked meats were killed and processed? No they were shipped in with the chicken and turkey.

How about the bread? Oh yes they baked the bread daily, it came in as little frozen loaves and they thawed it and baked it daily.

Seems none of the present generation, or the Subway corporation, knows what the definition of "fresh" actually is.

I like them better than a "squished fish patty on a bun"........
Besides that where would I get the preservatives to keep young...

Actually I don't think this was what our buddy gcckoka, had in mind....
    Sorry for the derail.....

That said....when I plan on surviving in the wilderness it will be when the berries are ready with fish maybe some cattail roots.....or a little later...when and fruits and the nuts are ripened...... and after Sept 15 th when many furry 4 footed animals are in season.

Have a kinda funny story about "foraging".....as a boy scout.

Well, compared to most other fast food, it's pretty fresh.

Not that that's a great comparison. Kinda like being told you're "nicer than Hitler." It may be true, but it doesn't mean much.

Same with Sarah Palin. She looked Presidential when compared to the other 3 bozos. But then, when you have 3 corpses, anyone with a heartbeat looks good.

    BTW, I do like her.

I knew we could count on Tony...... for real info from someone that makes the You Tubes not just watches them.........Good job.

Our boy scout leader was big on cattail root.....actually the whole plant is season.
    .
Roots themselves are good peeled and raw like the vid...or cooked in butter....available almost any time or the year if not frozen.
Tried drying cattail roots and pound into flour....can be done but takes a LOT of roots and time.

Arrowhead root was another favorite of his....but were harder to find for us.

    Acorns....processed....

    Fish favorite
Turtle, snake and Frog legs,( if you have big enough frogs..OK but not on my look for list..

Pine needles, rose hips, mint (you can smell it) all make pleasant tea.....maybe not so much for nutrition...but give hot water a better taste.

Depending on time of year....I think I could get by with a rabbit or squirrel some tea, maybe berries/ nuts.....

Of course some medicinal spirits (wink, wink, nudge).. keep the many badness away....

Hummm, Not many palms in Wisconsin....
Unless you consider the casinos....And they get a tad testy when you cut them up.....

Then again, they have a pretty good buffet......

many parts of the cattail of course. The root is bland but still good enough. It's a bugger to dig usually. If you have a boat and have an island of them floating nearby it makes collecting easy.
