Default Hi from the North East, way north, way east

    Hi

    I'm wayne from Newfoundland Canada.

I joined this forum awhile ago but i never did really use the forum much, but now I have been getting more into wilderness survival and bushcraft, I feel that I should re introduce myself.

I spend most of my time canoeing or kayaking the backcountry and have a huge fascination with improving my bushcraft skills. I try to take a minimalist approach whenever I head out into the bush. I am no means a pro, and look forward to getting any advice or tips from this forum.

Hey Hardwater. Glad to have you here. They allow you to have guns up there?

I remember those guys from Newfoundland on TV that went out and shot icebergs for the ice and collected it. Got a BIG price as this water is the purest water there is. They called these icebergs, "bergies". They were a real pair. One day they traveled 100 miles out to a huge iceberg but forgot the ammo. What a bunch they were. You don't talk like them do you?

Welcome from way west and way north.
There ain't too many problems you can't fix with $500 or a 30-06.

Him-"Whats the best knife for survival?"
Me-"the one that's in your pocket."
Him-"I don't have one in my pocket."
    Me-"Exactly."

Makes me jealous, that buffer the rock has from the mainland. I often wonder if they still close off the main street to traffic on the weekends in St. John's.

I forgot about the Labrador part, so much for the buffer LOL! My son works at Goose Bay. I've been to the Minipi Watersed but that was 30 years ago. The Torngats is on my list, someday.
