    Default Only An Old Guy....

I have a problem only an old guy would understand.

I ordered a shotgun last week. I just got E-mail notification that it is ready for pickup, 50 miles down the interstate.

It is now pouring down rain and I do not need to be driving in this crap! Too old, too many variables, too many crazies on the road.

Prediction is that it will rain all day tomorrow too, and possibly Thursday.

    It's official, God hates me.

If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

You wouldn't want to shoot in the rain. Get back online and decide on accoutrements. You know you're gonna anyway.

Already did that. I have everything I need in the shotgun box. All this one will get is an extended mag tube, maybe some sights.

This is a backup for the backup of my main gun!

I have enough to keep my mind off the problem for now. I have a fancy set of hot rod AR springs to install and I have a .44 magnum SA pistol stripped down to the grip screws waiting a trigger job. I need to work on that for now and hope the rain stops so I can go pick up the new toy tomorrow.

Hunter, get off the computer and let that eye rest!

Kick back in the recliner and listen to some music for the rest of the night.

    No need to press it.

I just finished the .44 magnum. It is a Hawes Western Marshal and it has a transfer bar, so I had to work around that. Aside from the transfer bar it is just like any Colt SAA, or a 36 Navy for that matter.

Polished the sear, polished the trigger, polished the transfer bar, then I took about 1/3 of the width from the hammer spring evenly on each side. Made a couple of swipes on the trigger spring edge and put it all back together. Put a leather washer between the mainspring and frame.

It took what had been a horrible 12 pound pull down to 4 pounds, and it is smooooth.

I have made to the age that I don't worry about anything any more. As soon as I think of something to worry about I forget what it was so I'm happy pretty much rain or shine.

Rain means that God is protecting you from the burning sun and giving you life. God Loves Ya.

This winter has been Kentucky's version of the Malaysian rainy season.

This winter has been just crazy. Spring flowers are in full bloom and the trees are all budded out. We are about two months ahead of schedule on the weather. At this rate, I should have a growing season from March through December!

Cataracts......seemed to start last summer...and went fast....couldn't see after dark worth a darn....all lights were star bursts.
Right eye went well, so had the left one done as it was getting bad, as well.

This was one medical procedure that actually work real well....and fixed something that was broken, rather than just patch it up.
