New to this very interesting forum - looks like I can learn a lot of things. I'm a four season camper and enjoy canoe/camping the most. ...hope there other camping nuts out there.

Hello and welcome from Pennsylvania. I have been camping for a very long time, now that I'm retired I camp 6 months out of the year in Virginia, and all that time I also fish and crab. I do the cooking and my kitchen is outdoors under a 12X20 screen room and that includes my grill and smoker so I can do my cooking in all kinds of weather. As you can see I'm a camping nut.

Welcome from Alaska. I just went camping, well ran a remote checkpoint for a dog sled race but ended up sleeping in an arctic oven tent. At -36 it was a bit cold but after it warmed up a bit to -20, it was perfectly comfortable with out little buddy propane heater.
Why do I live in Alaska? Because I can.

Yea you're just showing off now!

Trying to make us two season 50-80 degree campers feel inadequate.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Wow sounds epic unfortunately here I never experienced such extreme cold. At worst -4 degrees Celsius.. hardly ever snows (only 3 x times it's happen in Johannesburg in my life) although extreme heat and extremely dry here. Africa is a different kettle of a fish
