Default parts & pieces barn gun

Well I finally got around to a winter project. For the past couple of years I've been accumulating parts for a single shot 12 ga. I had an old savage receiver. Found a barrel. Found a stock set. I spent about four hours hand sanding it. Now I'm waiting for the stain to dry. I went with the natural stain. I had that or a dark stain. I'm glad I went with the natural. It's got the three inch / thirty inch waterfowler barrel. Some folks are cutting them down. I'm going to leave it long. It should make a nice barn gun.

    pics?

I had a Winchester single shot 12 gauge at one time. I preferred that over any auto loader or pump. It forced me to take time and effort to making the shot count.

I'll get a picture when I get it put together. Instead of wiping on the stain, I brushed it on. Now I have an extra long drying time. I made a mistake. IK. It's hard to believe.

Darn ol' Murphy! The stock is finally dry. Should be a quick rebuild but, noooooo. First, I don't have a socket extension long enough or a screw driver long enough. I go to the hardware store and leave with sticker shock. No problem, I'll make one. Then I try out the bolt without the stock. It's a little stiff. I try to back it out. It comes out bent! How did that happen? I barely put any torque to it. Now I'm trying to see if my threads are messed up. I sure hope not because the thing is aluminum with probably a steel insert. Now the hardware store is closed. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can find a bolt.

good news, bad news. The threads are good but, I can't find a replacement draw bolt. It's a M7 x 127 fine thread. So, I was thinking about using a shorter bolt and welding on an extension for the correct length. Any ideas? Any welding recommendations? Thanks
