    Default Does Anyone Remember..??

The other night I had a flash of inspiration and ordered a stock for a Savage rifle off E-bay at 1 am. It arrived today.

Does anyone remember what the idea I had was?

Did I happen to mention it to anyone in a PM?

I can't for the life of me remember why I ordered this thing!

    Are you sure its yours?.....
Or does "Brown" automatically assume anything shooting related is yours....and just deliver it?

Edit...Brown dropped 4 boxes of .327 Federal mag ammo off today.

That may not have been a flash of inspiration. It could have just been the pacemaker.

    I don't have a pacemaker!

New life rule; No shopping after midnight.

Also write all new inventions, ideas and discoveries down in the notebook by the computer.

E-bay makes it too easy. All I have to do is hit "Buy it now", then "confirm and pay" and it is all done. No process or lag time to think about things like "What the he!! am I going to do with this thing?"

I also have a new 4-16 power scope and mounts on the way, bought at 2am the same night/morning, so this much have had something to do with building a long range rifle and the possibility that I will mess up a stock and need a replacement.

Yes I remember very clearly! You were going to neck down a 300 Win Mag Brass to .17 bullet diameter. Then you were going to use Alliant Power Pro Varmint propellant to produce a very very very high velocity cartridge.
Of course you were going to re-chamber a bull barrel .17 rifle barrel to accommodate the 300 Win Mag casing and hope the chamber doesn't get too thin in the boring process. If I were you I would pay a homeless Hobo to perform first fire, just in case!
I would stand wayyyyyyyy back when the Hobo fires it for the first time and try to stay behind a tree, a big tree. Don't let him shoot from the new shootin shed, it may destroy it, or get pulverized Hobo all over the interior of your new building.
But even if the rifle doesn't hold together, it will most likely make ballistic history! 8000 feet per second Hobo fingers..............OMG

Based on wildthang's specs I would say that it was for a varmint rifle . But you are running late o. Your build as that pesky groundhog has made this years forecast for 6 more weeks of winter .

    Birthday gift!!!

When I was growing up my parents always told me their gift was they let me live for another year and did not pinch my head off!

Anyhow, the items I ordered came in and I was reminded what they were for. There were two projects involved and not one. One project involves my 30-06 Savage rifle and the other is an AR project.

I am building an AR CMP rifle, which is much like the "designated marksman" rife Druid has built, except mine has to comply with NRA regulations. One of the regulations is the use of a scope with no more than 4x and a 20mm objective.

I got to thinking about that and decided I might want more magnification on occasion, so I ordered a 3-12x-50mm glass on a quick detach mount for when you absolutely, positively have to see what you are about to blow to he!!.
