Thread: New Years Trip

    Default New Years Trip

We made a little New Years trip since it was 3 days off.

We had about 18 people in camp total and 4 generations, including my mom and dad, 4 of us 5 kids, my niece and great niece.

The weather was a little of everything. With temps in the high 50's to mid-80's. A little rain. Night skies were amazingly clear! Great camping weather!

The jeep at the end of the video is my buddies who also works with me. This was his maiden voyage. This is the driest I have ever seen it out there. I was able to easily go around the edge of this hole. But, because of the depth on the edges. My buddy with the jeep didn't want to go that deep.

Someone said maybe the middle is shallower. I said nope it is always deeper in this hole. But, since I was going to do a full service and fluid change and reseal everything after this trip anyway and this was the last day. I said what the hell and submarined it. The little red drybox that floats out is my tire repair kit. The seat cushion unsnapped and lifted enough for it to float out. It followed the UTV in and I grabbed it with out getting any wetter.

Couple of uses of the "S" word in the video.

Heh. Now that would be my kind of family reunion.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Thanks Batch. Looks like a lot of fun was had by all. I would never have believed that 4 wheeler would have made that swim! I may have to rethink the Gator/Mule/Razor deal now....
