    Post Hello!

It's nice to meet everyone. I am younger (16) and very very interested in wilderness survival as well as general field craft. I hope to learn as much as I can on this forum, and meet some interesting people.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello Sam,

I spent most of my life down in Tennessee, just south of Nashville.

Which of the three sections are you in. East, west and middle are like different countries.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

Unfortunately I am located in Memphis. There isn't a lot of woods located near me that I have access to. However, there are a few areas with some decent spots. A simple 2 hour drive can do wonders though. I hope to be doing some backpacking in the Rockys this spring.

    Thanks,
    Sam

Welcome to the Forum Sam. Glad you found it/us. Are you by any chance a Boy Scout? Good place to learn solid "general field craft" and to learn from other experienced campers. Again, welcome and I hope you like it here.

I did cub scouts and boy scouts growing up was fun did indeed learn quite a number of things there that pertain to survival and bushcraft.. It is something great for young men to get involved with.

Yes actually I was a Boy Scout for maybe 5 years. However it was not a great experience and there were some issues with the older boys s I had to quit.

Sorry to hear about that, that's the thing with people some make it a great experience others can just out right make it terrible... its not too difficult to learn by yourself youtube would have many videos on just about anything, books also valuable a great one would be sas survival manual
