Thread: Madmax's Tactical Walker

  1. #1

    Default Madmax's Tactical Walker

I have no idea where to put this lol.
I recently gave up the cane for a walker. It's temporary. 3 operations and 6 months of rehab and I'll be rockin'. After my first walk in the woods in a year (thanks to the walker) I had to camo it. Then I went a little farther. hee hee

That is awesome. I bet the Fast Action Response Team will want a fleet of them.

Needs a basket/bag for water bottle, tube tent, power bars, treats for 4 legged Max.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

I'm getting good ideas here. Maybe a rifle sleeve for quick draw. Another for a 870. Magazine pouches. Shot bag. Eventually 2 synched variable speed elec. motors for self propulsion. And I forgot to show the seat cushion I scavenged from an old deer stand.

I would want double gun sleeves down the sides for the AR on one side and the shotgun on the other.

You are in Florida, have you considered flotation devices?

    Perhaps water skis?

You also need halogen lights and a horn, maybe a cactus smasher.

Just good to see you out and about.....and hopefully you and Max will be cruising the outdoors and the canoe soon.

Reminds me of the lengths my FIL went to, to enjoy the out doors.
WWII Disabled Vet...Paraplegic...wounded in the spine.
Was told he would never walk and never have any more kids....(don't tell DW)....but fitted leg braces on his shoes, walked with two canes and by swinging his legs at the hips...(didn't ask about DW)

BIL and I made him up a fat tired AT-wheel chair, (reminds me of your walker) sometimes had to put it on a sled ..... to get his butt into the woods...
He fitted baby hunting boots on the ends canes to help with un-even ground...(wish I had a pic of that)......
He even went out ice fishing....pushing himself along with carbide tips on his canes.....in the buggy.

Would have loved a 4 wheeler, but weren't common yet....but he did use a snowmobile.....

Was always good to see him get out and about even hanging with his disabled buddies, on outing...many missing things.

Can't keep a good man down....your thread just brought back many good memories.
    Thanks.

Okay, if I ever have to use a walker or wheelchair, that's the way I'm going to do it!
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

I remembered that after I posted it. Just be glad someone for a brief moment thought the team was fast and had the ability to be active.

Is there room in the F.A.R.T. rescue boat for the whole team to take these when deployed or do we need a bigger boat?

Where have I heard that before?

Madmax I think what you are doing is great... But clearly its missing something.... like a hoverboard...

Can you retro design this to fit your needs?

LOL. Not ready for a wheelchair no matter what it looks like. Although a gun rest would be an easy mod on one of those. Hmmmm

Max - I was going to recommend binoculars but realize that would be a waste of space. Magnifying glass would be much more useful. We could start by using it to read the instructions for that contraption.

    Good idea!

Front wheel drive with extra weight on the front for increased traction.
