This last summer I bought my first Council Tool axe. http://www.baileysonline.com/shop.ax...FU9tfgodFi0CXQ
I had passed this axe up once before, and regretted it. So when it showed up at our local chainsaw shop, I snapped it up. It has replaced my Estwing as my go-to outdoor/bushcrafting axe. Its a nice compromise between the heavier forest axes and the lighter boys/camp axe. I really like the broadaxe style, it adds weight and a massive cutting edge without weighing me down. The leather sheath is well made and has an open back so you can pound things with the sheath on. So far the steel has been very good, and the grain orientation of the handle is well done. All made in the USA, and I got mine for less than $50. I have drooled over a Gransfors Bruks or Wetterlings for years, but it just can't be justified. I am extremely happy with this chopper and now I am looking at a few other Council Tool offerings.
The Apocalaxe might find a home in my truck...
