    Default New Job

Someone finally decided to hire me. I wasn't out of a job, just looking for a better one. Northrop Grumman hired me to work on the ground systems for ICBMs. I will be working on base at Hill Air Force Base here in Utah. We are planning to move closer, since this is farther away then where I work now, plus we want to be closer to the college my wife is going to. I start on the 3rd. This will also be about a 14% increase in pay.

I will miss the small town I am in. I really like it. Great neighbors, 2nd highest county gun ownership in the country... really close to open space and free shooting areas (ie desert). We will live in a slightly larger city for a few years until the wife finishes school, and then the plan is to move about 30 minutes away onto some farm land to do a hobby homestead.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

    Congrats FM.

Just keep control of the situation and do not outspend the pay raise. That happens occasionally.

And remember, you are in Utah, an hour's drive time from anywhere in Utah will put you into the middle of nowhere!

They might even let you use the base shooting range facilities as a contract employee. Every base I was on had some fantastic skeet and trap facilities as well as the standard qualification ranges.
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?
