    Default Survival drink!

First, I very slowly poured an ice cold IBC root beer into my big Yeti tumbler. Then I added Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream to fill the tumbler. Let sit for 3 minutes.

You know, I just might make it through the night.

Sounds good...like the drive-in on Friday night after the football game.

Man! A&W on Friday night 19cent Coney dogs and Root Beer Floats in a frosted mug. That's probably why I married that curly headed girl. She thought that was a date!

Kids these days don't know what they're missing!

Some how AM music always sounded better coming thru the rear deck speaker, in a '54 Chevy convertible on a summer nite...parked at the lake.
Actually I was the "county boy" that married the "city girl".....over 50 year ago.

I lived in a summer vacation area.......all "going steady" was supposed to be for 2 week only.
    She stayed.....

We have a lot in common in that respect. She was 100% City girl from New Orleans, LA. We met (as adults. We had met when we were 6 years old at a Company picnic but she didn't remember, hard to believe I know. But I remembered that curly blonde hair. Even at 6 I noticed things like that) at College, Louisiana, Tech. She went to class and stuff like that. I spent a lot of time out in the woods. I had a pretty good summer job that allowed me to make enough money to stay in school without actually going to school. I guess she was kinda taken by that wild man who slept outside, killed and ate critters, and howled at the moon occasionally. My ride was a 65 Pontiac LeMans, two door, with a 3 speed hurst shift. I had an 8 track and a very worn Lynyrd Skynyrd tape.

We've been married 41 years and not a day goes by that I don't wonder what the heck she saw that made her stay. We lived for 12 years literally in the middle of nowhere until I figured I should probably grow up.

I still like those root beer floats though.

One of the things we miss about Texas.... Blue Bell ice cream.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
